This past year, you have generously sponsored our 2 projects, Sundarijal Children Project and the Pokali School, for which we are very grateful. Continuity is important where it comes to sponsoring these children. Your contribution helps secure their future, as this newsletter will show.

Skill Training

When our children finish school we try to provide a follow up suitable for each of them. As much as possible we try to let them reach the SLC exam but if this goal is too high we like them to learn a trade as carpenter, electrician or plumber. Children who are capable of more intellectual education can go to college after their SLC exam and after that possibly to university. All this costs a lot of money and we reserve already money to pay for this.

For their mothers who are usually illiterate and stay all the time at home we also give courses as bead making and candle making. This fits in a community serving program of Rotary Clubs and they assist us. Till now 2 times a course was given in remote villages around Kathmandu and a third one is organized in Pokali.

Occasionally we come across a young adult who failed to get a proper education but would very much like to learn something useful. Also for these youngsters we like to provide help.
